The series follows the close-knit life of Pippa Fitz-Amobi, a Fairview high school senior who decides to tackle the five-year-old murder-suicide case that took the lives of locals Andie Bell and Sal Singh. Pip dives into the case, straight up detective style--even starts her own podcast to keep followers in the loop all around the world in hopes to uncover what truly happened to the hometown high school sweetheart couple. More than just the true circumstances of the murder-suicide case is unveiled, leaving readers with an eye-catching cliff hanger. Thus the introduction of Books 2 and 3. Throughout the other two, the story of Andie and Sal doesn't just whole up on a shelf never to be reviewed again. Everything comes full circle by the end of Book 3 and Pip is not the high school senior we readers are first introduced to.
Multiple characters play numerous roles throughout this trilogy and I cannot begin to explain the complexities and fluidity that Jackson portrays among the pages. Her writing style is straightforward and compelling--the setting explanations and descriptions of each scenario are done so grippingly well. I was hooked throughout the series, such a page-turner group of novels.
After closing Book 3, I was intrigued and hoping to share this book review (no spoilers simply because YOU NEED TO READ IT), in hopes to express my NEED for a movie and/or TV series because this trilogy is just that good. Lo' and behold--there's a TV series coming out and I'm SUPER PUMPED.
Please give it a read, you will NOT be disappointed! :)
