The short scruff along your jawbone sticks out towards me
as I caress the skin encompassing your face
Soft pinpricks reminding me to steer gently
along the paths that won't crumble underneath my pace
The flutter behind your eyelids translates another dimension
I wonder if I am apart of it or simply a foreigner
On the outside looking in
or awaiting the go ahead to venture further
When your legs twitch and your knees buckle
my curiosity is peaked and I am filled with powerlessness
You can escape the world surrounding us and our troubles
but they somehow follow you into the never-ending abyss
I fall in love with you more everyday
the unknowns after all this time render true
I am thankful for whomever that you have stayed
and I am reminded hereafter of just what makes you, you.
